Standing Rock protesters celebrated 12/6/2016 as news broke that construction of the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline near their territory has been halted.
For months, thousands of people have descended upon a handful of camps in the area to voice opposition to the pipeline, which they said threatened drinking water and would harm sacred sites.
The protestors have maintained a position of “water protectors ”. Bernie Sanders has said, “ we should NOT continue to trample on Native American sovereignty. We should not endanger the water supply of millions of people.”
I certainly don’t know all the facts, however ...I do know that .... oil and water don’t mix.
